Institutional Repository
IRIS serves as the institutional repository which systematically captures and manages a comprehensive array of information related to the research lifecycle. The information collected can be utilised for various purposes, e.g. institutional reports, staff reviews, etc.

Content Types
IRIS facilitates the capture and recording of a comprehensive array of research-related information for faculty members. It also enables users to link various related records to create an integrated research profile. For instance, you can connect your research outputs with funded projects, awards received, and media coverage related to your work.
The table below outlines the major content types available in the institutional repository. For more details on the specific types and subtypes, please click here.

Initial Data Population and Ongoing Data Collection
IRIS integrates data from both internal systems and external databases. Internally, it synchronises and imports information from internal systems and databases, e.g. CUHK Personnel Information System (CUPIS) and the Academic Information Management System (AIMS). Externally, data can be imported from databases such as Scopus and Web of Science.
The table below illustrates how existing data has been populated into IRIS and how data will be captured and updated after the system launch. For detailed information on data population and system integration, please refer to IRIS Data Population.
Content Types | How the Data is Initially Populated | How the Data is Captured/ Updated from Now On | |||
