FAQ – Professional & Knowledge Transfer Activities

The Professional & Knowledge Transfer Activities module is for recording a wide range of activities related to your research, including editorial work, conference participation, external academic engagement, etc. For details, please refer to Content Types.

The existing records are retrieved from the following systems:

  • SPUS (as of 3 December 2024)
  • ORKTS databases

You can input/update records directly in IRIS. For details, please refer to Adding Content – Activities.

For information managed by ORKTS (e.g. patents, licensing, entrepreneurial activities), please contact ORKTS for any edits/updates.

The following types of information managed by ORKTS are not editable in IRIS and will be imported from internal databases to IRIS periodically:

  • Invention Disclosures
  • Patent Filed
  • Licensing Agreements
  • Entrepreneurial Activity

Yes. You can control which content is publicly available by adjusting the visitibility setting. For more details, please refer to Content Visibility.

 

  • For historical records, the default visibility for each activity type can be found here.
  • For new records, you may select the preferred visibility before submission.
  • For information managed by ORKTS (e.g. patents, licensing, entrepreneurial activities), please contact ORKTS to change the visibility settings.
