Researcher Profiles
A public profile will be set up for each eligible staff member. For details, please refer to User Groups.
Access to IRIS is linked to appointment records in CUPIS. When you leave CUHK, your profile will automatically be hidden from the Public Portal.
Trusted Users
You can delegate a Trusted User to manage information in IRIS on your behalf. A trusted user can take control of your user account and perform all of the tasks that you can in IRIS. If you wish to add a trusted user, please refer to the user guide delegate/ remove a Trusted User (PDF).
How To Customise Your Profile
The user guide Researcher Profiles describes how to set up your profile in IRIS.
Personal Identification (Name & Affiliations)
Your display name, title, and email address are initially populated from CUPIS. For subsequent updates (e.g. to add your English name), please click here to submit a change request form.
The job title and affiliation information are retrieved from CUPIS and displayed in a standardised manner. If you identify any errors, please click here to contact the IRIS Project Team.
Author IDs
- Scopus Author ID and WoS Researcher ID: Please click here to submit a request form to add or update the IDs associated with your profile.
- ORCID ID: You can add or update directly in IRIS. Please refer to the user guide Researcher Profiles.
Profile Photo and Profile Information
The information currently in your personal profile has been collected from your department support team. If you are a new staff member or wish to update your profile information, please refer to the user guide Researcher Profiles.
Sustainable Development Goals
To identify research that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Elsevier has generated a set of Scopus queries related to each of the SDGs. The SDG keywords are automatically added to your research outputs, projects and personal profile. To edit or update the SDG keywords in your profile, please refer to the user guide Researcher Profiles.
Collaboration Network Map
The collaboration map indicates the location of collaborations that took place within the past five years by showing the countries/regions where you had an affiliation or where co-authors of your research outputs were affiliated (excluding co-authors from large author collaborations). The network map shows the collaborators you have worked with on your research outputs.
Highlighted Content
If there are specific works you’d like to showcase on your profile page, you can highlight selected content in your IRIS profile to make your significant contributions easily accessible to readers. You can curate a list of up to five items to feature on the Public Portal. By default, your newest content will be displayed at the top.
To edit or update the highlighted content in your profile, please refer to the user guide Researcher Profiles.
Content Visibility
Information from IRIS is accessible through the Public Portal. The content displayed on the Public Portal is updated, added, and edited via IRIS. By adjusting the visibility settings in IRIS, you can control what is publicly available, allowing you to effectively showcase your research achievements and contributions.
Most content types require approval and validation from central administrators before being made public on the Public Portal. As a result of these validation steps, there may be a slight delay before a record appears on the portal.
The table below summarises the visibility options available in IRIS.
