Adding Content – Research Outputs

The Backend has three user roles: Researcher, Researcher’s Trusted User, and Department Admin.

Researchers can manage their IRIS accounts, and may delegate a Trusted User to manage their accounts on their behalf. Follow our guide to learn how to delegate/ remove a Trusted User (PDF), and switch accounts (PDF).

See the table below for detailed user roles and rights.

Methods for Adding Research Output (RO)

Before you begin, it’s helpful to know that IRIS supports a wider range of research output types, from conventional to unconventional. You can find a detailed list in the Research Output Classification (PDF).

The following methods are available for adding RO:

ORCID integration

ORCID is one of the online sources for importing RO. If you want to import your records from ORCID to IRIS, please refer to user guide: Import from an online source (PDF)(Video Guide).

IRIS can be synchronized with ORCID. The user training will be provided later.

Tab and Metadata Explain

A pop-up window will appear when you add an RO. Different RO types may contain different metadata fields. The following guides explain how to edit different Tabs on the left menu and their associating fields.
