FAQ – Awards & Projects
Where does the project list come from?
The project list is from AIMS.
What is the difference between Awards and Projects?
Awards and Projects record in IRIS are found in pair. They are generated from a single project record in AIMS.
Awards record – Contains funding and award date information
Projects record – Doe not contain funding and award date information
Why is the project list incomplete compared to my AIMS profile?
The processing time for project data synchronization from AIMS to IRIS is about two days. In most cases, the project list in IRIS will be in-sync with your AIMS profile within two days.
An exceptional case for the incomplete project list is that if there is a temporary funding source in a project, the project cannot be synchronized to IRIS. After the project is validated by ORKTS administrators, the project will be synchronized to IRIS.
Why is the AIMS project link missing for some projects?
There are currently two types of projects in AIMS.
- Research
- Knowledge Transfer
Research project data in AIMS have corresponding interface already opened to researchers’ access and processing. A link is provided in IRIS for researcher to directly jump to the AIMS project page.
Knowledge Transfer project data in AIMS do not have an interface for researchers’ access. Therefore no link will be provided in IRIS.
Why is the Award date incorrect for some awards?
Some projects do not have the award date provided but this information is a mandatory field in IRIS. By default, the award date is assigned as one day before project start date if award date is not provided.
